Physical Health

Physical health, the most visible of the various dimensions of health, is critical for overall well-being. KS has a long history of helping students build a foundation of behaviors and habits that promote lifelong physical well-being.

With a tap and swipe on a digital device, our Medical Services team can access current student health information housed in our new Electronic Medical Records System, providing for improved efficiency in understanding and meeting all health needs of our haumāna.

The physical health services we are currently focusing on include the following:

  • Simplifying submission of Student Health Forms through an Electronic Medical Records portal
  • Standard medical procedures developed and implemented across KS, including:
    • Medical services for students
    • Concussion management protocol and training for all campuses
    • Tuberculosis screening
  • Medical clearances
  • Health services
    • Developed a single set of nursing orders and a single formulary used by all nurses
    • Developed/provided resources for ‘ohana and employees on outbreaks, including dengue, hepatitis A, rat lungworm, and the mumps.
