Kauikeaouli was born in a time of uncertainty, his breath nearly lost, his future unsure. But lifted by pule and the ea of his people, he rose. And rise he did, becoming one of our most visionary leaders, grounding the Kingdom in education, justice, and aloha ʻāina. That legacy still calls to us today. At Keauhou, haumāna, kumu, and ʻohana gather not just to learn—but to remember. To reconnect. To remind all of us that even in challenging times, when dark clouds loom overhead, we can root in our stories, in each other, and in ʻāina to rise again.“He aupuni palapala koʻu.” A kingdom of education, enlightenment, deep pilina and purpose, calling us to strive forward with kuleana carried across generations. When we anchor in aloha and move through pono, ea thrives—on ‘āina, in us, in our keiki, in our kāiaulu, and across Ko Hawai’i Pae ‘āina.E mau ke ea o ka ’āina i ka pono. #Kauikeaouli #Keauhou #aina

Notes and lyrics create music, music creates moʻolelo, and moʻolelo are the lifeblood of our people. For more than 100 years, our youth have become the storytellers of our ʻāina through mele. They recount tales of glory, tragedy, and of hope. The mele they sing activate something deep and transforms a simple music expression into a call to action. Because while some may hear simple notes, we hear a kāhea. The lyrics, the music and the moʻolelo change the way we see the world and inspire us to make it a better place.Join us now for the 105th Annual Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Song Contest, live on K5 or stream online at the link in our bio or at ksbe.edu/songcontest #KSSongContest #IMuaKamehameha
