From June 14 - 18, four haumāna from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama competed at National History Day at the University of Maryland. Pilialoha Carlson and Zoe Tamashiro competed in the Senior Group Exhibit and Olena Marsh and ʻĀnelalani Suapaia competed in the Senior Individual Exhibit. Hoʻomaikaʻi to ʻĀnela for earning 3rd place with her exhibit, "Revolutionizing Native Hawaiian Nutrition: The Impact of Claire Kuʻuleilani Hughes. The students were supported by kumu Sarah Razee and Leah Kihara with assistance from Kawika Mahelona.

In the mele Lei Hiwahiwa o Kamehameha, we call upon the ʻāina, ua, and wai of Ke Ali’i Pauahi's life. This mele was composed by Nā Pua Maeʻole a Pauahi, the haku mele cohort from the upcoming senior class of Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha ma Kapālama.
