KS Kapālama Middle school students were thrilled to welcome Nike N7 Founder Sam McCraken as keynote speaker for their Lā Kūʻokoʻa celebration. The N7 line, designed by and celebrating indigenous cultures, resonated deeply with our students. The sneaker mo’olelo club, led by Kumu Ray Parker, gifted Mr. McCraken a custom Kula Waena Nike Sneaker designed by students and packaging designed by Kumu Ikaika Bantolina. Kamehameha Athletics is also excited to announce a partnership with N7 which will feature the logo on KS athletic uniforms!

Aloha e nā ʻohana, Papa ʻEkahi, in collaboration with Kumu Jo, created a beautiful Christmas wreath in honor of Princess Pauahi. Each haumāna crafted a rose, which was placed around Pauahi at the center of the wreath. Hoʻomaikaʻi to our haumāna for their hard work and creativity! We’re thrilled to announce that our wreath won 2nd place in the keiki division! You can view our wreath at the Honolulu City Lights celebration, located in the Lane Gallery at Honolulu Hale. Wreaths will be on display from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31, 2025. Check it out! Mahalo for your support! For more information: https://www.honolulucitylights.org/ Ola Pauahi! Ola Hawaiʻi!

Haumāna are connecting with indigenous peoples from around the world at WIPCE in Aotearoa. They’re building meaningful relationships through cultural exchange, shared learning, and kōrero. Together, they honor and uplift indigenous knowledge by exchanging mo‘olelo across oceans.
