On October 31, 2025, our Kamehameha Schools Kapālama ʻohana — more than 3,200 haumāna and 800 kumu and staff — gathered in unity for a paikau honoring Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop and her enduring legacy. It was on this day in 1883 that Pauahi signed her will, establishing Kamehameha Schools and ensuring that generations of Native Hawaiian learners would have the opportunity to thrive. Today, we came together to celebrate her vision, honor her generosity, and renew our commitment to uplifting her legacy for generations to come. Ola Pauahi, Ola Hawaiʻi. 💙 #KamehamehaSchools #KSKapālama #OlaPauahi #OlaHawaiʻi #Paikau #Hoʻomau #HoʻokahiKaʻIlauLike

On October 31, 1883, Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop signed her will effectively establishing The Kamehameha Schools. Today, approximately 4,000 haumāna and kumu gathered to celebrate Pauahi’s wisdom, generosity, and aloha for her people. Students from grades 5-12 with their kumu marched from the top of campus to Kekūhaupuʻo and joined their fellow K-4 classmates. The paikau was a show of unity and support to protect Pauahi’s legacy. The assembly featured pule, hoʻokupu from each school, and a stirring keynote from Kumu Jon Osorio. We were also thrilled to welcome our CEO, trustees, and members of our legal team. We were blessed with the presence of our beloved Princess and Ke Akua during our paikau.
