23rd annual tribute to Kamehameha III

Birthday celebration for Ka Lani Kauikeaouli

He Aupuni Palapala Ko‘u – Mine is a kingdom of literacy

Each year, Kamehameha Schools honors the life and legacy of Kauikeaouli through an ‘aha mele (concert) and by highlighting organizations that uplift the community through education.

This year, we are proud to partner with Kalanihale Miloli‘i and Ho‘āla Kealakekua Nui. Kalanihale's mission is to improve educational opportunities for youth, mālama the environment, and sustain cultural well-being. The nonprofit group was established in the rural fishing village of Miloli‘i in South Kona in response to community needs. Ho‘āla Kealakekua Nui is dedicated to the stewardship of Kealakekua Bay's natural and cultural environment. The organization is committed to nurturing the bay's legacy, enhancing visitor experiences through education and storytelling, and spearheading projects like coral restoration.
