34 A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.- John 13:34-35

Loving one another does not require much from an individual. It can be expressed through kindness, compassionate, or thoughtful acts. Through love for one another the world can become a better and safer place. Love can create eternal joy for one. Treating someone the way you want to be treated is the golden rule that sometimes gets forgotten. Do not do an act that you would not like done unto you. A simple and easy way to show love to others is through the act of service. Service requires one to be completely unselfish. You need to be aware of things that are going on around you in order to find opportunities to serve. Service is an act that is done completely out of love. When you serve someone, you are doing it simply as an act of kindness to help someone in need. It is not done to expect a reward back.
Being in high school and in my teenage years there are definitely times where I can reflect on certain situations and remember how the lack of loving one another was present. Some of these times come from judging and even bullying certain people because of the way that they look or act. As children of God, it is not our job to judge one another. We all come from the same God and by judging and making fun of people we are disregarding his commandment to love one another as he did. My Heavenly Father loved me so much that he was willing to send his Son to die for me and take upon himself all my sins. So, how is it fair for me to simply deny his request to love everyone. It is my job to be an example and treat everyone with kindness and make it a goal of mine to brighten someone's day through something I do out of love.
