Four-year Chaminade scholarship program for Native Hawaiians now accepting applications

Applications are being accepted through April 1 for Chaminade University’s Ho‘oulu STEM scholarship created in partnership with Kamehameha Schools to grow the number of Native Hawaiians graduating with science, technology, engineering and mathematics degrees. 

Now in its third year, the scholarship will also include business majors. Kamehameha Schools provides funding support to improve education systems for Native Hawaiian learners by cultivating vital community partnerships and promoting post-high school educational success.

Ho‘oulu envisions a healthy, prosperous, just, and sustainable lāhui enabled by a new generation of Hawaiian scientists, health practitioners, forensic specialists, environmental professionals and business leaders who are equally grounded in science and culture.

The comprehensive scholarship generously provides for:

  • Full tuition assistance (100 percent of tuition not to exceed the published amount)
  • Consideration for partial housing subsidy for on- or off-campus housing
  • Wraparound academic support services to promote on-time graduation
  • Participation in Chaminade’s four-year graduation guarantee
  • Access to post-graduate career paths via Chaminade’s suite of articulation agreements with medical and graduate schools
  • Paid internships for professional development
  • Financial support for career development activities such as MCAT and GRE preparation
