Sending a huge hoʻomaikaʻi to high school chemistry kumu Joel Truesdell on being named as one of eighteen 2021-2022 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellows!

The Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship (AEF) Program provides a unique opportunity for accomplished K-12 STEM educators to apply their extensive classroom knowledge and experiences to their host offices to inform Federal STEM education efforts.

The fellows will spend 11 months serving in a Federal agency or U.S. Congressional office in Washington, D.C., engaged in the national STEM education arena.

Mr. Truesdell, who is officially retiring this year from Kamehameha after 30+ years of service, will continue to be an advocate for culture-based science education with a voice to help impact and implement national education issues and policy. In 2017, Truesdell was recognized with the National Science Teachers Association(NSTA) Shell Science Teaching Award.

Hoʻomaikaʻi e Mr. Truesdell! #imuakamehameha
