Support & services

Academic & technology supports: In addition to resource centers such as the Midkiff Learning Center and Student Support Center, Kapālama High School offers both formal and informal programs to help guide each students’ academic journey, including but not limited to:

• Ke Ko‘i Lipi, our one-to-one technology program, providing each student a personal laptop to gain the 21st century skills required to excel and compete globally; be empowered by and engaged with the curriculum; increase their knowledge and understanding of technology; become constructors and designers of information and ideas.
• College counseling, supporting students through the college selection and application processes.
• General counseling & guidance, aimed at helping students understand and accept themselves, make decisions, develop educational and career plans, and resolve special concerns they have as individuals. 
• Designated Learning Support Coordinators to help build strong study habits and time management skills.
• Hālau Kūkalaulama, Kapālama Summer School and extended programs. 
• Kauhale, a 9th grade interdisciplinary cohort program designed to support students

Well-being supports:  Beyond academic supports, Kapālama High School offers a range of behavioral health supports including four on-staff Specialists, access to the Hi‘ikua Line (a confidential means to report activities that present physical danger or social-emotional harm to students), Mālama Ola (resources for student health, safety & well-being), grade-level counselors, and student support teams.
