2016 Summer Explorations Series

July 19, 2016

The summer season finds keiki enrolled in Kamehameha's Explorations Series of summer enrichment programs, exploring their island home and learning about Hawaiian culture and the environment.

The Explorations Series encompasses three different one-week boarding programs:  Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i, Ho‘olauna and Kūlia I Ka Pono. Each provides hands-on cultural learning experiences for students. KS photographer Michael Young recently captured the spectrum of activities available for haumāna from elementary to high school.

Programs like Explorations help cultivate a strong Native Hawaiian identity in our learners – Goal 3 of Kūhanauna, our Strategic Plan 2020.

Kamehameha Schools’ policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
