More Native Hawaiians die of heart disease than any other ethnic group in the state. With that in mind, over 60 members of the KS ʻohana stepped up to participate in the recent American Heart Association Heart Walk raising $1,870 for the cause.
Over 5,000 walkers took part in the annual event raising over $430,000 for heart research, education and awareness programs. Event participants completed either a 4.5-mile route around Diamond Head or a one-mile route around Kapiʻolani Park.
If you’d like to put yourself on the path to good health, visit the American Heart Association website for tips on incorporating heart-healthy activities into your life. Read more about the Heart Walk in the KSOnline story.
