KS Maui senior earns free UH tuition

May 24, 2022

Kamehameha Schools Maui class of 2022 salutatorian Nanea Ah You was surprised this week to learn that she had won the University of Hawai‘i Federal Credit Union Take Me to Mānoa scholarship worth a year of free tuition to UH-Mānoa. Ah You was among more than 100 applicants for the scholarship, each of whom submitted a video sharing why UHM is their college of choice. Her winning video entry focused on why she wants to stay home in Hawaiʻi for her college studies and how she hopes to use her video storytelling skills to uplift the lāhui. This is the second year in a row that a student from KSM’s award-winning video production program has won the contest. Last year’s winner was senior Hezekiah Kapua‘ala.
