Our legacy

Ke Ali‘i Pauahi’s land legacy began with 25,569 acres inherited from her father Abner Pākī, mother Laura Konia and Aunt ‘Akahi. Pauahi inherited 5,780 acres, mostly in He‘eia and Wai‘alae Iki on O‘ahu with a few small parcels in downtown Honolulu, from her father Abner Pākī in 1855; 10,231 acres, including Ke‘ei, Ka‘ōnohi (Kalauao), and Lumaha‘i, from her mother Laura Konia in 1857; and subsequently 9,557 acres, which included the lands of Keālia 1, Makalawena, and Ke‘ei, from her Aunt ‘Akahi in 1877.

Upon the death of her beloved kaikua‘ana (cousin), Princess Ruth Ke‘elikōlani, Pauahi inherited approximately 400,000 acres of land, increasing her total landholdings along with other inherited lands to 431,378. Today, through the development, dispositions, and acquisitions within the land portfolio, KS’ landholdings include approximately 364,000 acres.
