Two Warrior volleyball players inducted into HHSAA Hall of Honor

June 10, 2024

The Hawaiʻi High School Athletic Association has inducted its 42nd Hall of Honor class, two of which are Kamehameha Schools haumāna. In a ceremony on June 2 at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel, KS Kapālama’s Adrianna Arquette and Maela Honma from KS Hawaiʻi were inducted into the class.

Arquette was a key player for the Warriors, clinching the Gatorade Hawaii Volleyball Player of the Year title. Her girls volleyball team secured the Division I state championship this past season. The Kailua resident will play for the Rainbow Wahine at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

Multisport athlete Maela Honma is headed to Western Oregon University for volleyball. She’s a two-time All-State Fab 15 pick in the sport and steered the KS Hawaiʻi girls’ basketball team to their first undefeated BIIF season.

This year, a dozen honorees were selected by a committee of former sports reporters, athletic directors and coaches from across Hawaiʻi pae ʻāina. Each student-athlete will receive a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Since 1983, the HHSAA has honored outstanding players in its Hall of Honor.
