Matthew Kodama

Planning and Development Manager I

Matthew Kodama plays a crucial role in overseeing the management, strategic planning, and financial analysis aspects of commercial development projects in Ka‘ōnohi and Waipahu on O‘ahu, as well as in Keauhou on Hawai‘i Island.

With over 14 years of diverse experience in real estate, encompassing planning and development, project management, and financial analysis, Matthew brings his expertise to the Kamehameha Schools ‘ohana.

In his most recent employment, Matthew was a Planning Project Manager at Bowers + Kubota Consulting, Inc. and worked on a wide variety of projects that included land use planning, long-range planning and land use entitlements. His previous work experience included management and planning for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs’ Kaka‘ako Makai lands, and asset management of Bank of Hawai‘i’s branch portfolio.

Matthew serves as a Commissioner on the Hawai‘i State Public Charter School Commission. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, holding both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration.

Beyond his professional and educational achievements, Matthew is a family-oriented individual, with two young children. Additionally, he has a background in golf, having played at both the collegiate and professional levels in the past.
